Situated on the banks of the dry Arebbusch River, Arebbusch Travel Lodge nestles in the natural surroundings of the “veld”. Far from the hustle and bustle of central city life, yet minutes away from the capital’s shopping centers and attractions.

Arebbusch Travel Lodge provides a wide variety of “value-for-money” accommodation in a safe, clean and family friendly environment. Accommodation types include luxury accommodation, standard rooms, budget accommodation, 2 –6 bed self-catering accommodation units and caravan/camping sites. All accommodation may either be taken on a B&B basis or on a Self-Catering basis.

Windhoek offers the tourist first world banking and business facilities, medical services, great shopping, wonderful culinary experiences and a vibrant night life. Tourists can either take a structured city tour or explore on their own. Windhoek is both colourful and culturally diverse, and there is always something for people of all ages and walks of life. During the daytime there are historical sites, nature walks, shopping malls, museums, curio shops and outdoor craft markets to keep one busy. In the evenings there are a number of nightclubs and pubs for the younger generation, while for the slightly older generation there are theatres, wine bars and a variety of restaurants. Arebbusch Travel Lodge is also situated adjacent to the golf course and domestic airport. It’s positioning and service offering make Arebbusch Travel Lodge ideal for tourists as well as locals.

A great deal of importance is placed on protecting the indigenous flora, which combines with beautiful man-made gardens to create surroundings in which the tired and weary business or leisure traveler is encouraged to truly relax. Whether on holiday or a business trip, one is always ensured of a rejuvenating and invigorating experience in a peaceful and tranquil atmosphere.

In addition to protecting the natural “veld”, Arebbusch Travel Lodge recognizes the fact that sustainable development can only be achieved through the implementation of sustainable practices, and as such strives to be as eco friendly as possible. Energy saver light bulbs are being utilized wherever they can be, energy control units have been built into the new luxury rooms, geyser timers are in the process of being tested, waste is separated on site in preparation for recycling and a number of water saving measures have been implemented. Furthermore, the restaurant complies with sustainable seafood principles as laid out by the South African Sustainable Seafood Initiative. There is however always room for improvement and Arebbusch Travel Lodge is in the process of designing a fully fledged Cleaner Production program:

Avoid. Reduce. Reuse. Recycle.

Arebbusch Travel Lodge also prides itself of being involved in a number of social responsibility projects. It is involved in the City of Windhoek “Teens-in-Tourism” Project and regularly involves itself in a number of charity events. Recently it has been involved with events in aid of The Hope Village including The UB40 Hope Village Benefit Concert and The Idols Hope Village Charity Ball.

Human capacity development is considered key to the delivery of excellent service and the success of Arebbusch Travel Lodge. Training is primarily done in-house by the recently established Quality Control Department while outside trainers are brought in from time to time for once-off sessions to address specific topics. The belief is that in-house training ensures higher standards of reliability and validity, and is hence more effective and efficient.

Arebbusch Travel Lodge has also become involved with the NQA’s Recognition of Prior Learning (RPL) program.  RPL is an assessment process that assesses the individual’s non-formal and informal learning to determine the extent to which that individual has achieved the required learning outcomes, competency outcomes, or standards for entry to, and/or partial or total completion of a qualification.
