Accommodation In Windhoek

About Accommodation in Windhoek

During your trip to Namibia, Windhoek is likely to be the first place you touch down on your explorations. Spend a few days in the city before you set off on your adventures. There’s plenty to see and do and you will find no shortage of accommodation options ready to welcome you.

The city offers lodgings to suit every style and budget, for solo travellers and large groups.
All of the city’s best accommodation providers are registered with the Hospitality Association of Namibia which describes the various options as follows:

Windhoek Hotels

Hotels in Windhoek are just like those all over the world, offering varying standards of luxury and service. You can choose from 5-star accommodation at the award-winning Hilton Windhoek or go for one of the budget options.

While the furnishing and amenities may differ, you will find the same friendly hospitality at each one.

Most hotels offer a choice of family rooms, suites and luxury options with en-suite bathrooms, air-conditioning, television, Wi-Fi, and tea and coffee making facilities.

Meals are enjoyed in a restaurant onsite and in-room dining may be offered.

Windhoek Pensions

For a less luxurious but more personalized stay, guests should choose one of the many pensions found around Windhoek.

A pension has the same homely feel as a bed and breakfast establishment except lunch and dinner are included in the rate as well. Some pensions offer a half-board option which excludes lunch.

A pension is always owner run and not managed by a hospitality group. While you won’t enjoy valet parking and in-room dining at a pension, you will find that the service is friendly and personalized.

Windhoek Bed & Breakfast Accommodation

Just like B&Bs all over the world, those in Windhoek vary greatly in affordability and amenities. True to their name, breakfast is included in your rate when you stay at a B&B and this may consist of a continental buffet, a cooked meal or both. Bed and breakfast accommodation is usually in a house with a garden and in some cases even a swimming pool.
