Fork ‘n Nice

About Fork ‘n Nice – Swakopmund

A seafood celebration

You can’t miss this sunshine-yellow food truck bus on the Swakopmund shoreline and you wouldn’t want to either. Fork ‘n Nice has been receiving rave reviews from the locals since 2015, which is high praise coming from residents of Namibia’s seafood capital.

When you grab a takeaway or sit down at one of the yellow food truck’s roadside tables at Fork ‘n Nice, you’re enjoying so much more than a meal. It’s an experience to savor and a memory that will last a lifetime, perpetuated by the owners’ enthusiasm for food and fun experiences.

When to Visit Fork ‘n Nice

The yellow school bus might offer meals on wheels, but you can count on it to appear like clockwork at its usual spot between 11am and 6pm every weekday, except Monday and from 11am until 3pm on Sundays.

What’s on the Menu at Fork ‘n Nice

Fork ‘n Nice is Swakopmund’s first American-styled food truck, but its meals are distinctly Namibian in nature, with one exception – the succulent and flavorful pulled pork and ever-popular Cuban wraps.

The biggest attraction is by far the beer-battered fish and chips, with diners munching through more than 25kgs of fish on a busy day. Crisp calamari deep-fried to golden perfection is next on the list and the truck also offers refreshingly cold soft drinks as an antidote to the Namibian heat.

If you can’t decide on a favorite, you can opt for a best-of-both-worlds seafood combo.

Fork ‘n Nice is owner-managed and run, and you’ll find the owner, Maggie, or her husband Bill, behind the wheel whenever you visit. They employ four skilled local ladies to help them, but one of the duo is always on hand to supervise and greet their clients.

Maggie and Bill’s success stems from their true love of food and a dedication to creating the perfect fish and chips.

Getting There

Go towards the sea and you’ll find the Yellow school bus on Strand Street, just north of the Swakopmund Mole, the Jetty, and the main beach, opposite @TheSea apartments.
